Adios 4kgs....it's the begining.....

Me and my colleague did a mini 'The Biggest Loser' in our department. Just a 2 weeks program in conjunction of the awareness of eating health food among us. We started on 17th March until 31st March. I didn't take it seriously at all but I just did my daily routine in office. I was not even on any freak or strict diet at all. I didn't take any replacement food or slimming pills. We go for natural & safe way. So we pasted up so called "What to Do Activities" to achieve our so called goal. It was a simple activities.



So called "To Do List" & How many kilos to loose Mission ;p

So yesterday was the 'judgment' day for all of us. Using our pink & cute weighing machine, each and everyone of us, membuat upacara menimbang badan. LO! I've lost 4 kgs!!! And proudly to be announced as "The Biggest loser." But there's no millon dollar price awaits la...Not even 2 ringgit.. But...I feel good...Priceless! ;) Though my actual mission was to loose 5 kgs, but am quite satisfied with my achievement. But yes, there's still lot of thing to be done and long way to go to achieve my ideal weight.

Dari dulu lagi, my weight ni fluctuate. Aktif lebih turun mendadak. Jogging non-stop everyday, suddenly stop jogging sebulan, naik balik badan nauzubillah. Makan lebih? Makan kurang? Samaa je berat...Jumpa kawan-kawan semua bagi reaksi berbeza. Jumpe ex-schoolmate sekolah rendah, "Eh, you dah kurus la." Jumpa ex-schoolmate sekolah menengah, "You dah tough sikit sekarang" Pulak..

Though losing this 4kgs just the beginning for me. All I have to do is to continue what I'm doing now. Maka I pun started to muhasabah diri sendiri.....I'm not a pakar pemakanan. But I believe that we can loose weight if we do things differently and with determination. Chewahhh... so, what have I done differently? Nothing extraordinary. However, I did change a bit of my diet dan bukanlah complicated punye diet. Diet manusia biasa je ni a.k.a diet jimat budget ;p

Breakfast - I will make sure to drink Horlicks 3 in 1 Lite + Fibre Added & less sugar before eating anything else. This to avoid the super hungry feeling. Tapi kadang-kadang kalau betul dah lapar, I will eat mihun goreng ke, sometimes eat nasi yang I tapau from home. My housemate masak sedap.hehe.. or sometimes tahap gaban punye lapar, I bought roti bakar from our office cafe. Janji never skip your breakfast sebab breakfast is the most important meal. I'm a normal human being, I cannot eat ONLY cereal & milk or ONLY fruits for my breakfast. Nanti lunch 'bantai' super duper heavy meal. Pastu ngantuk tak bley buat keje, tak productive, what for. Moreover, how long I can take those meals? So, I will eat food yang tak berapa berat but filling la.




Another thing I did was I count my calorie intake. Correct me if am wrong, but a friend told me, for ladies, the calorie intake per day is around 1500 - 1800kcal. Walaupun I think supposedly not more than 2000kcal, as told by my P.E teacher, En. E. hmm...Tak kisah lah, so I'll make sure, my calories per day, will not exceed 1800kcal. Read your food lable. Bukan nak fussy, tapi kaji-kaji la jugak, ape benda yang kita makan all this while. Thanks to Fehmi, he gave me the list of food and it's calorie for my reference.

Lunch - Before having heavy meal a.k.a lunch 'whack' as much salad/ulam/fruits as possible. We've been eating too much of cooked food, and tak boleh nak elak pun dari tak makan semua tu, so why not give way to the raw food to be absorbed first. I didn't skip my rice, I just take a small portion. Kita ni orang Malaysia, nasi dah sebati dalam hidup kita semua. Haha.. But no drinks while having your lunch. Tapi standby je la segelas air masak in case tersedak. Lepas lunch, I didn't straight away minum air jugak. I will normally drinks half an hour after meal. Tak minum air masak or air batu. Hot drinks, please. I will drink a coffee and only coffee with 'lingzhi inside.' Reason why we feel mengantuk after heavy meal? Sebab all of our energy all focusing to digest food in our stomach. So my coffee helps to expedite the process without rase mengantuk. And it helps me to go to toilet too.
Moreover, lingzhi helps to take the side effects of the caffeine. Tapi apepun, coffee still bahaya jugak if mengambil dos yang melampau. I heard in one Health talk, coffee will decrease our calcium in our body. Ada percentage dia, tapi tak ingat berapa. Aiyo, dah la I'm addicted to coffee.. So,I make sure to top up my calcium la.


Inilah saladnya. Enak dimakan begitu saja. My friend even called me - Kambing.

Snack - Of course ada snack! But I switched to healthy snack such as IKO biscuits, Kellog's Bar, Nature Valley, Muesli - My friend called it makanan hamster... Cherry tomatoes & salad pun oke jugak buat munching munching....in short.....I will try my very best to avoid pisang goreng ke, chocolate ke. Skali sekala boleh apa salahnya, masalahnya for me, bila skali sekala tu, nanti jadi setiap kali setiap ketika. Apa orang kata, "once pop, cannot stop." So kena switched the mindset a bit.

Dinner - Normally I will skip my dinner and opt to drink Horlics Lite. If nak dinner pun, make sure before 8pm. If dah 'terperangkap' kat majlis orang, sebagai menghormati orang yang menganjurkan majlis, I took very little nasi & very little lauk... Tapi akan dihantui rase guilty la sebab makan 'heavy' after 8pm. So what I did? Buat simple 'activity.'

Simple Activity - Senang je, I take stairs regularly. My department is at 4th floor. So if I need to go to 6th floor? 3rd Floor? I took stairs. Simple! My company won so many Agha Khan's award for it's unique design. Apa salahnya kita guna tangga yang architect tu susah-susah bina. ;p
Sometimes, dari tingkat 9 to my floor, I took stairs also. Turun tangga tak sepenat naik tangga. So, use the tangga as much as you can. Kadang-kadang from 12th floor turun till 3rd floor then take stairs to 4th floor. Jimat pun jimat. Calorie pun terbakar!

Besides make full use of the stairs, I do sit up - full sit up. If tak mampu, buat ladies sit up pun oke. Selit kaki bawah laci kabinet or if ade kawan rela hati jadi 'anchor' pijak kaki, by all means. Just sit up.
I'm not an athlete or body builder - I sit up 20 times sahaja during lunch hour. Lagi, park your car far from your office entrance. Walk more, bukan longlai walk, brisk walk. Tapi janganlah sampai basah ketiak, ye.

However advantage for me as I'm avid futsal. Every Wednesday is my Futsal night. As for hari-hari lain, sometimes I will rotate my activity, either jogging, swimming or stair climbing. Once in a while, I will join marathon. I've tried the 7.7km ~phewhh. Too bad I'm not a gym person. Belum mampu sangat la. So I have to go for 'manual' way & kena bekerja extra la to loose & maintain my weight.

Maka, I have to finish what I've started - to get to my ideal weight naturally, healthy & safe!

tu mst kak farah punye penimbang.pergh 44kg je.aku pun 48/49/ntah2 50 kot!! hahaha
